Wii are Hurtin' for some Action!

News that Nintendo are pulling all their UK Wii advertising in place for the more widely available DS probably comes to no surprise to us, we also know that they are upping production to 1.8 million wii units a month & we also know that the words 'Nintendo Wii' are the most searched for words on this planet at the moment (second comes Nintendo DS).

So what is it that makes the Wii so right for the consumer? the answer as if it needed to be said is that anyone can play, i've seen dad's play the Wii console!. Working up a sweat while 'exercising' almost makes the wifes and girlfriends interested in forking out cash that should be put towards better stuff like gardens or rings. The amazing £179 price point helps speed the process of purchase too! (although finding it under £350 with any decent games is like finding a needle in a haystack at the moment).

Looks like Nintendo may of won the console war, i mean they have strong opposition from Microsoft with the 360, and dare i say it the PS3? but being the hottest-impossible-to-get product for a second year running is just incredible.

I myself am still without a Wii, but i can blame owning a home for that! its on the list of things to buy in 2008.

Will Nintendo keep us on the edge of our seats in 2008 with some great titles, lets hope so. The future is bright for Nintendo, seems every one is backing them. I personally want to open a WiiBar and mix great nights out with great social gaming.

24 Season 7 on Hold

With the writers strike under way, Fox is switching up its 2008 schedule.

The major moves include indefinitely postponing the premiere of “24,” moving up the launch of “Hell’s Kitchen” into spring and setting premiere dates for several new shows.

Overall, Fox plans a mix of reality and repeats, along with running off its remaining stock of scripted originals.

Fox originally scheduled “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “24.” With only a modest number of “24” episodes reportedly complete, the season-seven premiere is being postponed “to ensure that ‘Day 7’ can air uninterrupted, in its entirety,” Fox says.

Watch Lost Season's 1 - 3 Online

A lot of people have lost faith in Lost, i have to claim to not be one of them. If you are like me and still have a burning passion to find out what has gone on or what IS! going on then head over to this site to watch them all online.

Its a shame that the news of a possible 8 episode season and then a long year and 2 month wait for the other 8 episodes of season 4 is rumoured. Lets hope it isn't so, but i agree that the writers deserve more.

Cool Nintendo Graffiti - Not by Nintendo!

My Favourite is this picture of Link, where the artist has brilliantly used bricks to illustrate the pixel technique. This is just sheer genius on their behalf. I would like to see more of these popping up everywhere, certainly beats chav's tags.

I want to see a Mario and Donkey Kong Brick Pixel versions!

Here is some other cool Nintendo Graffiti too. Plus a Flickr Gallery full of them!

Weller have you been?

Mod-rockers The Jam are to reform and tour but without frontman Paul Weller.

Bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler have not toured together in 25 years but will play a 20-date tour from 2 May, beginning in Oxford.

The Jam sold over 14 million albums worldwide before their 1982 split. The new tour will feature a mix of old hits and new material.

Paul Weller, who has had a successful solo career, has been invited to join the tour but has not commented.

Foxton said: "This tour is deliberately intimate and something of a warm-up to our own material to launch later.

"The plan is for us to get close to the fans, have some fun and then follow with a larger tour in the autumn."

Buckler added: "Paul Weller has a fantastic solo career and is one of the UK's most talented songwriters.

"Paul is always welcome to join us for the reunion, but until then, we've got a tour and a new album to do!"

The tour will take in venues across the UK such as Aberdeen, Nottingham, Liverpool and Guildford, before ending in Portsmouth on 27 May.

The album is planned for release in the autumn.

Jet Li is the Mummy for Mummy 3

In related news, an IGN reader dropped us a line about The Mummy 3 and director Rob Cohen. "I attend Chapman University in Orange, CA where tonight Rob Cohen did a Q&A after a screening of his film Dragon:The Bruce Lee Story. During the Q&A, someone asked what he thinks about Jackie Chan and Jet Li. In his answer, he confirmed that Jet Li will play the Mummy in The Mummy 3, which he is directing. He also said that the film will take place in China and Michelle Yeoh will also be in the film. The biggest bombshell was that the film's protagonist will not be Brenden Fraser, but rather his character's son, now 22 years-old. Also, Jet Li will be the head Mummy in a group of Mummies that were the Teracotta army."

Lost Move Hurts Ratings

Darkhorizons report: A later time slot and fan frustration over ABC's "Lost" is seeing the hit show undergoing the inevitable erosion that comes with serials that drag out the action too long.

Wednesday's 10pm episode pulled in 12.8 million viewers, down two million viewers from last week's return from a three-month hiatus, and a new series low for the show.

Whilst much of the audience, including myself, remain very loyal to the show - the inevitable frustration over the fact that mysteries simply aren't being answered or dragged out too long are taking their toll.

Whilst the producers talked of setting an end point for the series last month, no further word on when such an end point will occur has been discussed.

It also means the show joins the club alongside Desperate Housewives and Battlestar Galactica as third season serials suffering in the ratings, despite better notices for their content this year than their previous seasons.

First Guests Announced at Celebration IV

"Official Pix is proud to announce Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) with our first round of guest announcements for Celebration IV! Carrie will be joined by many fan favorites and many first time Celebration signers including: Kenny Baker: R2-D2, Lightning Bear: Scout Trooper, Stormtrooper, Paul Blake: Greedo, Richard Bonehill: Snow/Stormtrooper, Mike Carter: Bib Fortuna, Mike Edmonds: Logray, Ugnaught, Garrick Hagon: Biggs Darklighter, Gerald Home: Tessek, Mon Calamari Officier, Richard LeParmentier: Admiral Motti, Dave Prowse: Darth Vader, and Tim Rose: Admiral Ackbar."

An Canadian Hulk?

According to Hollywood North Report, Marvel Studios has been scouting locations to set up shop in either Toronto or Vancouver. The budget is said to be in the $125 million range. The first film carried a budget of $137 million and earned $245 million worldwide.

The Incredible Hulk, directed by Louis Leterrier, is scheduled for a June 13, 2008 release.

Aaron Eckhart is Harvey Dent!

Aaron Eckhart is in final negotiations to play Harvey Dent/Two Face in "The Dark Knight," Warner Bros. Pictures' sequel to "Batman Begins." In Batman lore, Dent is the district attorney of Gotham City and an ally of Batman. After half his face is disfigured by acid, Dent becomes the insane crime boss known as Two Face. He chooses to do good or evil by flipping a coin. Tommy Lee Jones played the character in 1995's "Batman Forever." "Knight" sees Christopher Nolan back in the director's chair with Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman are also returning. Heath Ledger joined the cast last summer, signing up to play the sardonic and murderous villain the Joker.

The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Halo 3 gets a Shhhhh Button

To those people who like to be loud and abusive on xbox live, Bungie says, "shut up." On its latest weekly update post, community liaison Frank O'Connor reveals that Halo 3 will have what one staff member calls "The A-Hole Button." The feature will let gamers instantly mute players of their choosing directly within game sessions.

Currently, the feature is locked onto the Back button of the 360 controller, but O'Connor suggests it may not remain mapped to that position.

One major complaint about Halo 2's online play has been the behavior of gamers over Xbox Live. While Bungie can't police every single person's actions, the company does say, "We're doing our best to come up with lots of smart solutions for stuff like this, but honestly, we can't be parents to some of these poltroons."

Xbox 360s investigated by Watchdog

BBC consumer affairs show looks into a number of complaints about hardware faults on Microsoft's console.

The show's presenters say that they have received 248 complaints about faulty Xbox 360s, and they believe they will receive more as further items come out of the warranty period.

Watchdog highlighted two cases in which consoles that had just come out of the one-year warranty period had shown the dreaded 'ring of death'--referring to the three red lights which appear on the console to indicate a fatal hardware fault. The two owners had to spend around £80 ($156) each to fix the fault--something they considered to be unreasonable not much more than a year after purchasing the systems.

The popular UK TV series, first aired in 1980, investigates consumer problems including faulty or dangerous goods.

A Microsoft representative did not appear on the show, although presenter Nicky Campbell read out the following statement that the company had sent to them: "Most people who have an Xbox 360 have an outstanding experience and there's no common fault. Each incident is unique, and looked at on a case by case basis."

Maggie Gyllenhaal for Rachel Dawes?

Latino Review are reporting that Maggie Gyllenhaal has landed the part of Rachel Dawes in the Batman Begins sequel 'The Dark Knight' . Good casting if you ask me.
