Elijah Wood speaks out about The Hobbit

MyMovies.net caught up with Elijah Wood, who played Frodo in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and asked him his thoughts about New Line telling Jackson they are moving ahead on The Hobbit without him.

"If [Peter] ultimately doesn't come back because of what New Line has done I think it would be a great tragedy," said Wood. "I think it's ultimately quite foolish for New Line to move forward assuming they can create an equally wonderful film without Peter... and I think for that for fans that's tragic. For a long time I never kind of imagined that these movies would ever be made, so if they do get made I think they should be made by Peter."

Fantastic(4) new car!!!

20th Century Fox has released the first picture from the upcoming sequel "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer". The shot not only shows off their sexy new 'Fantasticar; vehicle but the new look of the cast - slightly longer hair is in it seems (Alba especially), though the outfits remain the same - if anything judging by Chris Evans in this shot, they're a little too skin tight.

Preacher coming to TV

HBO is developing a one-hour series based on the popular 1990s Vertigo comics series, Preacher, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Mark Steven Johnson (upcoming Ghost Rider, Daredevil) is writing the pilot, while Howard Deutch is attached to direct. Johnson and Deutch will executive produce along with Michael De Luca, George Agusto, Chris Bender and JC Spink.

Preacher, which ran from 1995-2000, told the story of a down-and-out Texas preacher possessed by Genesis, a supernatural entity conceived by the unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon. Given immense powers, the preacher teamed with an old girlfriend and a hard-drinking Irish vampire and set out on a journey across America to find God -- who apparently had abandoned his duties in heaven -- and hold him accountable for his negligence.

The series was created by Irish-born writer Garth Ennis and British artist Steve Dillon, who will serve as co-executive producers. Ken F. Levin, who represents the duo, also will serve as co-executive producer.

There have been several attempts to bring the comic to the screen, whether big or small, but nothing stuck, says the trade. A movie version, to have been produced by Kevin Smith's View Askew, among others, got to the casting stage, with James Marsden attached. Via Superherohype.com

£1 Million Xbox 360's stolen

Two consignments of Xbox 360s has been stolen in the UK this week, reports regional newspaper the Express and Star.

The first occurred after a lorry was flagged down travelling south on the A38 at Hillards Cross. The driver, who thought he was being waved down to inform him of a problem with his vehicle, pulled over. The men then threatened him and dragged him out of the cab, they then made off with the lorry and £750,000 (approx $1.5 million) worth of consoles. The driver suffered minor injuries, and the lorry was later found--empty--further down the A38.

The second theft occurred in the Hellmann Worldwide Logistics depot on the morning of November 23, when a trailer containing £250,000 ($483,000) worth of Microsoft's next-gen consoles was taken.

Staffordshire police spokesman Peter Stevens said, "We are appealing for information from anyone offered [the consoles] in suspicious circumstances, such as in a pub, at a car boot sale, or off the back of a lorry, to help us track down those responsible."
