Star Wars Next Gen Game Official

The Star Wars saga continues this November in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

Features

* During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
* Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
* Examples of unleashing the Force in ways never thought possible:
o The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
o The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
* In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
* Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld

Boba Fett at Toy Fair Pics!!

Plus this from their blog:

We are delighted to announce that the popular grading authority the AFA will be present at Celebration Europe. The AFA is the largest toy grading company in the world and this will be the first time that they have attended an event outside the USA. The AFA was established to help promote the hobby and to give toy collectors the peace of mind of knowing the exact condition and authenticity of a figure. Once a figure is graded, AFA encases it in museum quality acrylic to preserve the condition and improve the display quality. AFA will be accepting all submissions at Celebration Europe and we encourage our European customers to visit their stand as they will be offering Celebration Europe discounts.

New Star Wars Celebration Europe Blog

New from their Myspace Blog - Celebration Europe was at ExCeL last week for the British Toy Fair with a special guest, … none other than galaxies favourite Mandalorian bounty hunter, Jeremy Bulloch.

Jeremy was on hand to help promote Celebration Europe to the assembled toy trade and was escorted by three of the UK Garrison of the 501st 's finest stormtroopers who ordered crowds to 'move along' as they went. Celebration Europe received some great media attention and Jeremy was swamped for photo-calls and journalists wanting to know more about the man behind the mask and about Celebration Europe. Press coverage of Celebration Europe included an article on the BBC's website declaring it as 'a massive event' for all Star Wars fans in Europe.

We distributed 3 ultra-rare special edition post cards at the Toy Fair, 2 of which were previewed earlier on this blog, the third shows Imperial Guards standing by the gates of Buckingham Palace with Celebration Europe banners dropping from the balcony. We hope some of these cards will filter through to other shows in the next couple of weeks and intend to continue producing new cards over the coming months so keep an eye out for them! Remember we are only producing a very limited number of each card and each card is immediately retired as soon as it is distributed so if you see one grab it!

We were also pleased to welcome Steve Sansweet and Mary Franklin from Lucasfilm who were in town for a site visit to check out the ExCeL venue and make sure that plans were progressing for July. Steve and Mary were very impressed with the venue and we all wore out plenty of shoe leather scouring every inch of the facilities with floor plans in hand trying to visualize how the Galaxy of Star Wars will fit in when it takes over East London next July. A few stunning new ideas were also hatched that are sure to create great excitement… more info on that soon!

Many thanks to Jeremy and all the people we met at Toy Fair and the hugely positive vibe we got from you about our little party!

Thanks also to the UK Garrison and the services of the Empire's finest, the advanced scouting party of 3 stormtroopers looked impressive in the venue, but we could not help but get a warm fuzzy feeling thinking how much more impressive things will be when they are joined by the full invasion force of their brothers and sisters in armour from across Europe in 6 months time!

Star Wars in Glorious 3D...Hold on.

From the latest Q & A post.

Q. Last year I heard rumors about Star Wars being re-released in theaters in 2007 in 3-D as part of its 30th anniversary. Is that still happening?

A. At this time, there are no definitive plans or dates for releasing the Star Wars saga in 3-D. While this is still a project that intrigues us, Lucasfilm's focus is on the exciting activities surrounding the 30th anniversary as well as the production of the animated Star Wars television series, the next Indiana Jones adventure and other entertainment projects.

Star Wars HD Marathon

Owners of a Sky HD box will be grinning like cream-soaked cats right now as Sky has announced some decent telly for New Year’s Day. Even better, it’s all in high-definition.

Starting at 6am on News Year’s Day, Sky will show all six Star Wars movies in glorious high-definition. You can choose from two schedules – one that follows how the movies were released in the cinema, and the other which will show them chronologically.

Sounds like a beautiful new year.
