Well, the cleanup program failed with the exception of this one little robot and he's left on Earth doing his duty all alone. But it's not a story about science fiction. It's a love story, because, you see, WALL·E falls in love with EVE, a robot from a probe that comes down to check on Earth, and she's left there to check on and see how things are going and he absolutely falls in love with her

Technology giant Apple has reached a deal with the Beatles to end the dispute over the use of the Apple name.
Apple Inc will now take full control of the Apple brand and license certain trademarks back to the Beatles' record company Apple Corps for continued use.
The two companies have been wrangling over the use of the Apple name and logo for more than 25 years. The legal battle over the trademark will now end.
Apple Inc boss Steve Jobs said the court dispute had been "painful".
The Beatles' songs are still not available on any legal download service, but this truce could pave the way for their anticipated appearance on the iTunes download store.

The legal dispute between Apple and Cisco Systems over the iPhone name has been temporarily suspended.
Cisco's lawsuit has not stopped, but the two firms have agreed to extend talks aimed at "reaching agreement on trademark rights and interoperability".
The Apple iPhone, which the company has said will hit shelves in June, was launched last month in San Francisco.
Cisco immediately sued Apple for trademark infringement; Cisco has its own line of internet-enabled iPhones.
The company, which makes much of the hardware that underpins the internet, has owned the trademark on the iPhone name since 2000 after it acquired another company Infogear.

In no particular order but this is what we're looking forward to iPhone, Apple TV, Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix, The Golden Compass, Halo 3, Oblivion Expansions, Kings of Leon Album, Modest Mouse Album, Lost S3 Back on our Screens, 24 Day 6, Battlestar Galactica S3, Wii's back in stock, Transformers the Movie, Star Wars Celebration Europe, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Smashing Pumpkins new album and tour, Spider-man 3, F4-2, Alan Wake Game, PS3 Failing to grip the market, Xbox 360 Price Drop, Harry Potter Action Figures, HD TV's Price Drop War & the launch of the brand new Cult Press website.
iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.
I urge you to head over to apple.com to view this masterpiece of modern design.

A fancy new distribution platform is only as good as its content, and while we knew Azureus had the former down pat with Zudeo's snappy HD distribution techniques, we weren't quite sure what they had up their sleeve for the latter part of the equation. Well, good news: BBC just signed up for Zudeo, and will be making "hundreds of episodes" available on the fledgling download service. "Programmes" will include Red Dwarf, Doctor Who and The League of Gentleman, with classics such as Fawlty Towers available as well. There will be DRM slapped on top of the shows, which will be distributed in a "high-quality" form, and there's no word yet exactly how much Zudeo will be charging for these downloads, but if they can break through that $1.99 barrier we're seeing good things in Zudeo's future -- especially with more content deals on the way, which Azureus is planning to announce in January.

Ofcom is legalising the use of FM transmitters that allow iPods and other MP3 players to play through car radios.
The use of devices, such as Griffin's "iTrip", was banned in the UK as their transmissions can interfere with broadcasts by legal radio stations.
However, the device and other similar accessories for MP3 players have been widely available online.
Now certain FM transmitters, which can be tuned to spare frequencies, will be legal from 8 December.
Ofcom will also remove the need for a licence to use Citizens' Band radio.

Digital media company Sonic is working on a software-based DVD playback engine that will be included in a version of the Nintendo Wii due out in 2007.
However, that means early versions of the Wii purchased this year won’t have the DVD playback function.
The CinePlayer CE DVD Navigator is already licensed by companies such as Adobe and Microsoft, and the software is used in everything from consumer electronics, PCs, kiosks and automotive entertainment systems, to music download services.

I bought the Shuffle to help me walk to work in the mornings (and I love shiny things), and it works a treat! You don't even know it's there, the sound quality is great, it can go fairly loud too and the battery seems to last forever. The controls are very basic but very easy. It comes with a small dock which is very cute and syncs with your Mac (or PC) without any problems....
