Justice League Live Action Series on its way?

The success of "Smallville" may have paved the way for a spin-off featuring fellow DC Comics mainstays "Justice League".

It was announced a while back that several guest star heroes (the Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, the Green Arrow) will all be appearing in an upcoming episode of "Smallville" this season.

Now, Comics Continuum reports that the group will also be appearing in a second episode later in the season and insists that episode will "act as a launching pad for a possible series".

Smallville producer Al Gough has denied that any League spin-off is in the works though, who can blame him after the disastrous "Aquaman" pilot got shelved even before airing.

Wii have sold out accross the UK

Wiimania has hit the United Kingdom in full force, with the console selling out on its first day of sales -- 50,000 units in 12 hours. However, many of the pre-orders could not be fulfilled as there were predictable shortages, with some opting to take refunds instead of waiting until January for subsequent shipments. Predictably, many of the Wiis ended up on eBay, and according to the BBC, have hit high closing bids of £500 (nearly $1000), compared to the retail price of £180 ($350). Buyers seemed to be in high spirits at the Wii main launch event at the Oxford Street HMV retailer in London, where crowds were regaled as former English footballer Ian Wright took on boxing champion Ricky Hatton in a quick bout at Wii Boxing. (Wright was victorious, if you must know).

Doctor Fox is dead? Well the rumours continue

E! Online have posted an interview with Lost creator and co-producer Damon Lindelof responding to talk of Mathew Fox's Jack characters rumoured death. He said "This is the most insane rumor regarding Lost to date. The fact that you think we might do it is incredibly flattering". We heard that last season and the person in question died, so all we can do is speculate. I think the island needs a doctor, everyone gets ill sometimes.... don't they?

Awesome scoop from Mac Rumors

Is Sony's Spirit Crushed?

Not only are they notorious for stating the obvious, but game industry analysts also seem to have quite a flare for dramatics. Nomura Securities' Yuta Sakurai believes the PS3 will be Sony's last console, stating "I cannot imagine a PlayStation 4."

Yuta believes Sony will go the way of SEGA by switching entirely to the software market thus becoming a mere game publisher.

"The appointment of Hirai could be the start of a shift from hardware to software," said Sakurai. "I cannot now imagine a PlayStation 4." According to the Financial Times, Sakurai's reasoning is that "Hirai’s new global portfolio puts a predominantly software-focused manager in charge of the company."

In the end, Ken Kutaragi has essentially failed, even if Sony pulls through with the PS3 in the long run. He has botched up the Japanese and North American launch by betting on the wrong horse, the Blu-ray technology.
